At least, that’s what Windows Central’s Jez Corden has said to have heard recently. In the latest Xbox Two Podcast from Rand al Thor and Jez Corden, the duo talked about Microsoft’s The Initiative, and Corden said that someone recently reached out to him about the studio’s upcoming Perfect Dark reboot. “Right now, the Initiative is there, and it’s because we’ve seen nothing from them, we’ve only seen, we’ve only heard about studios leaving and stuff like that, and funnily enough when I made this list, someone actually reached out to me and said that Perfect Dark is actually coming along really well....

RTX Global Illumination (RTXGI) adds more immersive and realistic outdoor ray-traced lighting Ray-traced ambient occlusion improves shading around objects occluding light Ray-traced shadows improve the fidelity, clarity, and visibility of shadows Ray-traced reflections increase the accuracy and quality of reflections on bodies of water and other suitably reflective surfaces...

On Nexus Mods, user Instanity uploaded an unofficial NVIDIA DLSS update for the game, bringing upscaling technology to the latest version, version 2.5.0. This new version reduces ghosting and improves both visuals and performance slightly. Even though the DLSS 2.5.0 update brings some improvements, it still doesn’t allow systems outside the high-end level to run The Witcher 3 with decent performance with ray tracing features on, as my machine (i7-10700 CPU, RTX 3070 GPU) can only run the game at around 30 FPS with ray tracing global illumination on, 4K resolution and DLSS set to Performance....

The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has decided to cancel the discounts that it had offered its customers in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Loading times are almost non-existent on PS5, and although texturing hasn’t changed, anisotropic filtering has been vastly improved. In addition, there is a minor improvement in far shadows, and the drawing distance for some elements and geometry has been boosted....

MAWI United, who developed the impressive Conifer Forest Biome demo, recently launched a new demo built in Unreal Engine 5.1, the Nanite Redwood Forest demo, which features a square kilometer of an entirely procedurally generated forest made up of billions of Nanite triangles for trees, plants, rocks, debris, and more.
